How Our Assessments Work

We begin with an in-depth consultation, where we take the time to listen to your story and understand your concerns. From there, your psychologist builds a comprehensive assessment tailored to you, using a combination of standardised psychometric tools, behavioural observations and clinical interviews. The aim is to understand whether Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is present, and how it affects your daily life.

Understanding Diagnosis

A diagnosis is not a label. For many people, it is a way of understanding themselves, and it opens the door to the right support. Where the assessment shows that criteria for a diagnosis are met, we will explain this clearly and sensitively. Where it does not, we will talk through what the assessment did find and what other explanations or supports may be helpful. A diagnosis can lead to:

  • A clearer understanding of why you or your child think, feel and respond the way you do.

  • Access to appropriate supports, such as therapy, school or workplace adjustments, and referrals.

  • Practical strategies and a shared language for family, educators and employers.

  • Greater self-understanding and self-acceptance.

After Your Assessment

You will receive a detailed written report that includes your results, a clear diagnosis where applicable, practical recommendations and a pathway to further support. We also offer a follow-up consultation to talk through the findings and answer your questions, so you never have to make sense of the report on your own.
